COMMUNICATIONS

Working in the MBU Athletic Communications office allowed me to hone my skills as a writer and a social media manager. I served as the primary sports information director/contact for several Spartan varsity sports, writing game recaps and award releases. I also kept track of other administrative tasks like schedules, rosters, and numerous other duties throughout each season.
During my time as a student at Oklahoma State University’s Paul Miller School of Media & Strategic Communications, I spent a majority of my time working for the student newspaper The O’Colly. I was tasked with covering numerous functions and athletic events as a beat reporter and later as a photographer. My pieces on local events in the Stillwater community, other Oklahoma State University specific news, and beat reporting covering OSU women’s basketball, women’s soccer, and softball were published to the paper’s print and online formats.
REPORTING
My live tweeting of the 2017 Homecoming & Hoops event led to an unexpected moment of virality, as my post about head football coach Mike Gundy removing his shirt for the fans became a hit. It went on to be featured on the Big Ten Network and ESPN the following day and has amassed more than 300 thousand views.
